Wet Floor

This is Clay's first real attempt to write anything. He did pretty good with Em's help for spelling. We're not sure why he wrote wet floor. It was on the floor but it wasn't wet. Good job Clay. Maybe he will grow up to be a janitor.

Fearless Fliers

Clay would ride all the rides if they let him. He's still too short for most of the really fun and scary ones.
Emmie is quite the opposite. She likes the merry-go-round and that's it. She likes to ride on different animals to make it feel like she's going on different rides.

Petting Zoo

We love going to the petting zoo at the state fair each summer. The kids had lots of fun. Scott told Emmie the deer and goats love being hugged. She went around and hugged each one. She'll make a great vet one day. Clay says being a vet would be too boring. Maybe he will be a football player..

The Family Bed

Believe me, they were all in trouble this day!

Clay and Dad Go Bowling

Strike!

Scott took Clay bowling. Clay had a super time and felt like a pro. What a great day!

Old School

When we were in Old Sacramento we had a chance to go inside the old school house. The kids were showing us their skills. This also made them appreciate the school they are in now. Not because it's modern and more comfortable, but because they don't have to be in the same classroom together!

Stage Coach

Our Fiddletown neighbors have dozens of old time wagons. They saw us walking around and gave us a free ride through Old Sacramento during Gold Rush Days. Diane is also the local life guard at the Plymouth pool. We saw her a lot this summer. Thanks for the fun ride.

Bear Graph

Emmie and Clay started this project by sorting their furry animals by type. Then they lined them up from most to least. Dad showed Emmie how to set up a graph to record her data. This picture is supposed to be a cute picture of Emmie and Clay's accomplishment. Instead, as usual it turned into an all out wrestling match. No one cried so, all's good.

HeeHee

Mom and Clay had a race. Mom with the camera trying to get a picture and Clay trying to free himself from the car. It's Mom's job to catch her kids in funny situations. So tough bologna! Got ya!

There Goes Another One

Emmie was so excited to lose her tooth (not actually at the time that it was wiggling loose). Now she gets to have a tooth with her name on it on the chart in class. She was the first kid to lose a tooth in September.

Woof!

Oliver and Biscuit look like they could be brother and sister. Biscuit is better behaved though.

First Day of School

Oh boy! Here we go. Emmie is a big time first grader and Clay is in kindergarten. Emmie is in Mrs. Bloster's 1 / 2 split. Clay is in Ms. Trulock's K / 1 split. Clay is one of only 3 kindergartners in his class. He is with 21 first graders, mostly from Em's class last year. He went around telling everyone, "I was supposed to be in kindergarten but they decided to put me in the first grade!"

Hey! I'm in kindergarten now!

Take a hike Mom!

Fine if we give you a decent picture will you just go?

Emmie and her best friend Chloe waiting to go into class for the first time as first graders.

Clay gets to sit in front of the first graders with the teacher. If any kid has the ego to be the youngest kid in a combo class it's Clay.

Here comes Emmie strutting her stuff out of the cafeteria and on her way to the playground.

Clay had a great first day of kindergarten. He's in class with his friend Michael. It's good to be a big kid.

Give Me a Little Wink

Who said winking was difficult? These guys are pros. That looks normal, right?
